The word "Sparoo" conjures up images of an old man sitting there making jalebi! This old man was in the and war,apparently. He'd lived abroad,apparently. He was gay,apparently! He was a RAW agent apparently.
What gave his gayness away wasnt the fact that he acted like they do on tv these day.He was gay back when being gay meant something. Ask Maja. He was rumored to have acquainted good old sparoo.
Back in my day there was no such thing as such thing as the kind of "pat on your sleeve" gay that tv portrays these days. You had to be playing hide and seek (chupun chupai) to find out the preference of a friend. It was then your choice to join the club. Or reject it! I tell you papu bachas and mummy daddys had it bad. One of them even made money out of it!
Anyway back to spar00. He would sit at the jalebi shop with these grapefruits and you'd think am I going to extract somesort of water crunching disease when I deal with him. Has he throughly washed his hands. Obviously no one did (well unless you were probably maja.sorry dude).
Anyway for a few years spaaro wasnt seen. Everyone assumed he had died. His contribution to the local community hasnt been forgotten.
Anyway this post is dedicated to sparroo whom none of you knew (but may have tasted his jalebi)
ps I have changed the title to Jalebi, the happy shalwar qameez people post will be at another time.
pps I have used the term happy as the other word is to politically whatsamacallit to say :)
