For your reading pleasure-The interview

So here it is, please let me know what you think.
Again thanks to The Pakistani Spectator who took the time out to copy and paste the questions to me. :)
"Could you tell us what made you decide to blog, and what was the inspiration behind it?

I had plenty of stories, a phone with an always on internet connection so i thought why not? I mean i have lots of interesting stories to tell from both the past and the present. I blog here.

What do you think sets Your blog apart from other blogs?

I will leave that for all of my 3 readers to decide as to why they decide to come and read my writings.

If you could choose one characteristic you have that brought you success in life, what would it be?

Define success? One person’s idea of success is probably not the same as anothers. But your probably talking about money and stuff so with that in mind i would probably say that the characteristic that one needs for success is to be friendly.

What was the happiest and gloomiest moment of your life?

Happiest would probably be the day i was born. The gloomiest will be when…well you can see where im going with this.

Urdu Blogs have got huge potential, when do you think they will really take on the online horizon in Pakistan?

They wont. In fact they shouldnt. Because they mess up my browser and everything looks jumbled up and rubbishy. But seriously though, Urdu blogs are great but they are of limited appeal. English has a much more wider audience.Still Urdu is a beautiful language. I just havent read anyone who is good at it yet.

If you could pick a travel destination, anywhere in the world, with no worries about how it’s paid for - what would your top 3 choices be?
Wow. Only three? Ok so in no particular order. These would be Eygpt (obviously). Pakistan. and lastly probably the Himalayas.

What is your favorite book and why?

I read a lot. Be that blogs or books. A really good i read was called Shantaram. Its about an aussie bloke who spends time in an Indian jail. I dont want to give to much away to people who havent read it but its brilliant. Go and buy/loan it.

What is your favorite meal, dress, and sport?

Pizza. Birthday suit. Juft Taak (played with marbles and a hole in the ground-for those that dont know)

What’s the first thing you notice about a person (whether you know them or not)?

Its weird but the first thing i always look at is a person shoes. Provided they have uptodate shoes (well at least clean ones) i will judge them by that. Well at least until they open their mouth that is.

Whose Future is more bright in Pakistan; English blogs or Urdu Blogs?

English Blogs absolutely. I dont know anyone who reads Urdu blogs. Show me one funny Urdu blog?

How Pakistani bloggers can benefit from blogs financially?

Sell their souls to the devil in return for ads. No not google.

Do you think Pakistani bloggers tend to remain somewhat self-centered and really don’t go out of their shells? Is it the oriental style of blogging, or they are still unsure about it?

I dont really read that many Pakistani bloggers but the ones that i do read are quite witty and funny. Not all of them are self centered but hey i think thats just how us Pakistani’s are. We wouldnt be us if we didnt concentrate on ourselves more.

What do you think where the Pakistani blogosphere is right now?

Its like a baby with great massive centipede legs. The content is not that good (hey mine included) but we are still going at 100mph.

Who are your top five favourite bloggers in Pakistan?

I, diplomatically, like all of them. HA. They are all doing good and making a contribution.

Have you ever become stunned by the uniqueness of any blogger in Pakistani blogosphere?

A certain website which i wont mention keeps opening a million pages everytime i click an article on it. It stuns me that these people havent fixed it or are intentionally do it on purpose.

What is the future of blogging in Pakistan?

Hopefully it will be bright. Providing you have enough electricity to keep your computer running for more than 5 mins.

You have also got a blogging life, how has it directly affected both your personal and professional life?

Remind yourself to divide up your time. And remember that real life comes before the virtual one, you geek.

What are your future plans?

Staying alive till tomorrow. Lets start with that.

Any Message you want to give to the readers of The Pakistani Spectator?

Why arent you reading my blog? Dont make me point my evil monkey finger at you."
After this interview ended i wrapped up by proceeding to squat a pesturing fly with my mighty finger and nodded my head in a very cool, knowing way. Thats how i do it baby! Oh Yes!

Overall I think it was a great interview. I don’t understand why you asked some random questions like where are 3 places you want to go and what are your saddest and happiest times but none the less I guess it’s still interesting.

I think it went well and makes for a nice read.

Thanks for submitting over at blogengage.

p.s. please start allowing us to add the name and url when commenting!

Thanks

Brian
